The MURP School for Fine Ladies and Gentlemen of Incendiary Talent

Lake Eppalock Camp

Founded in 1999, the Murp School for Fine Ladies and Gentlemen of Incendiary Talent is world renowned for its excellence in producing the cream of pyromaniac society. A challenging syllabus, strict moral code and demanding physical requirements result in well-educated, virtuous and healthy graduate, ready to take their place in the ranks of society.

The School is administered by two Principals, Sir Kyle Lake (CSU, SAFaD, EBB) and Mr Ken Blakey (CWTD, StF, AHT). The two principals have a demonstratable ability not only in matters academic and pyrotechnic, but also in instructing the young of noble families from Europe and around the world.

For the safety of the pupils and others, the School is situated in the most remote and parched locale of Lake Eppalock. In such a desolate location, small fires and large explosions are easily contained and do not discommode others.

New students are begun on a strict diet of bacon for breakfast and drilled in an invigorating physical education programming, including long walks in the direct sun to accustom them to the extremes of heat that their gifts with expose them to.

However, students are also strongly encouraged to rest during the hottest parts of the day. "Relaxation is the key to a keen mind", Sir Kyle claims.

Mr Blakey was asked about the moral rectitude of the attendees at the school. "We only accept pupils of the finest breeding and most exemplary manners. Such uncouth activities as summoning elder gods are grounds for the immediate expulsion of any survivors involved."

The School Syllabus includes common abilities of the pyrokinetic such as opening gates, defending against other pyrokinetics and controlling and binding of lesser elementals. Also as part of their studies, students are required to participate in regular school fairs, where their current efforts are presented in the forms of projects. The Hon Mr B. K. Wakely carefully demonstrated his permanent horizontal gate. Under the direct supervision of Mr Lake, Lord Robert Shankly of Wilmot created a physical vessel for the more excitable denizens of the outer realms. While not a perfect experiment, the results appeared to be of some excitement to the academics of the school.

Camaraderie is strong at the School - at night, carefully segregated groups of the young members of the peerage gather as their schoolmates practice techniques learnt earlier in the day.

Despite its strong focus, the School is far from single minded. "We do not simply release our students upon the world after honing their ability.", says Mr Blakey. "We also provide instruction in the important art of diplomacy, especially between angry elementals. Neither are the finer arts ignored - artwork involving fire is an important part of the student's curriculum. And we must not forget the gentle tasks of entertaining visitors and hosting gatherings"

Rumours persist of students being scorched and scarred by their curriculum at the school. A number of detractors are critical of the lack of experienced staff at the school. "I will not deny that there have been some unfortunate events at the School in all the years that it has been active. This is a dangerous business and it can have dangerous consequences. I assume you are referring to the events surrounding Mr Dalton? All I am able to say is that he attempted to open a gate to a most unpleasant realm against a Master's advice, and it proved too much for him." Mr Blakey was quick to demonstrate that students are quickly instructed in the various summonings, symbols and spells protect themselves from day to day danger.
