Will we shut up about it? Nope.

Capricon is a lot of fun, stress, enjoyment and panic. Its the culmination of nearly a month of work. Its a chance for MURP people to show off their writing talents to outside people, and maybe develop a reputation for writing... and believe it or not, its a big thrill to be asked to write for a convention.

But what good is a Convention? Well, its a good chance to play games that you've looked at and thought "Maybe", but haven't been willing to shell out the cash to buy the book. Its a good chance to play with people that you might not normally roleplay with... and to experience styles of roleplaying that you might not have thought of yourself.

Do you GM? Watching a Con GM might give you hints on how to improve your presentation of your material - make no mistake, the best roleplaying stories and characters sit like a wet lump on the table if you can't convey what you want to your players.

But most of all, a Con is for turning up and having fun at. Capricon is a perfect chance to experiment with not just playing or running, but whether or not you like Conventions. Arcanacon and Conquest are expensive - that can't be denied - even though they keep their costs to a minimum.

But Capricon is almost too cheap to live. It costs $5 to register as a player and $2 per session. That means at most, you will pay $15. For almost 30 solid hours of power packed roleplaying. But wait, there's more...

... and there is. Cons are a lot of fun, and weird shit happens at them a lot, like strip twister (still waiting for the photoes to be developed). Eventually you get to recognise faces around Cons, and it becomes a sort of metaclub.

Frequently Heard Excuse

Anyway, the point of this harangue is that we think Capricon is worthwhile. We enjoy it. And we're hoping you'll come along so you can too.
