Arcanacon

Arcanacon 96 has just recently passed, and MURP was well represented by current and past members. For those of you who have been living on another planet, Arcanacon was for many years the biggest roleplaying Con in Melbourne, and the most professional in feel. Held at Collingwood Education Centre, on Hoddle Street.

This year Arc felt smaller than usual... there often seemed to be no one around when it would normally be fairly packed. That being said, this year it was relatively disaster free.

Some of the games did not run - but in a tournament the size of Arcanacon, this isn't unexpected. Those that did run were generally good, well organised and fun to play.

One More Kennedy: I still don't know what was going on.
Can You Spell Anarchy?: Pretty neat, although it needed more character detail.
Batman: People came back from the session still chortling, so it must have been good.
Funky Squad: I've never seen so many disgusting items of clothing, from the fake side burns to the crotcheted wool caftan.
Empty Cradles: First session was strained, but the second session was fairly wicked.
The Invisible Typewriter: People came back from this session thoughtful or confused.
Endangered Species: The MURP team received the "Greatest Civilian Kill" award, what can we say :-).

Other games did not get such a good report. Groo The Wanderer and Heart of Darkness were not hailed with much in the way of glory.
