Wednesday Night Roleplaying Seminars
As of April 26th MURP will be hosting roleplaying seminars in the Conference Room on Wednesday night. We have asked a number of the more renowned roleplayers of Melbourne to come and give you some ideas on how to create playable scenarios and characters.
These seminars were first tried in 1991 and were incredibly popular with club members, new and old, so we REALLY recommend that you come and see what they are like, to maybe improve your writing, but definately to give yourself a large burst of inspiration.
Mid-semester Break
During the semester, its often common for clubs to skip a week of activity. This year, we've decided to do the opposite. We intend to have an all day roleplaying session on the Thursday, with a free barbeque at lunchtime!
So from 9am to 8:30pm in the Conference Room (upstairs Union), you are welcome to come along and play all day, or come at any time and start.
Infernal Tournament II
Yes, once again, MURP members are going to have the chance to show their roleplaying skills off to each other, as another Infernal Tournament rears its ugly head!
April 27th, Conference Room, you have the opportunity to play Rigours, a Cthulhu tournament which will have its 1st airing at ConQuest. For those who cry "But I played it at ConQuest!" - thank you for volunteering to GM. (*grin*).
Thursday Nights
As the semester progresses, we sometimes find that people start to drift away, as work builds up, and they start to stress out. Well, roleplaying provides a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind. So set aside that one night a week, and come along and have some fun.
CAPRICON V!!!!!!
Capricon is MURP's own tournament, and is a great opportunity for members to show off their abilities at writing, GMing and playing. We actively want members to write their own scenarios for Capricon, (not sure how? Wednesday Seminars!) and your are more than welcome to get into the organising and planning of Capricon (speak to Andy Smith).
However, to ensure that Capricon is a success, we need to know what you will be running, so that we can put out advertising at Arcanacon. This means that we need at least a brief blurb about your tournament by the end of this semester, and preferably have the completed scenario in our hands by the start of second semester. So start thinking and plotting and writing.
