Revue: Conquest
"I say I say I say . . why did Cthulhu cross the road? Why, to rend the mind of the crossing attendant, of course! *rim-shot* You know, as I was going to Conquest, I met an Orc trying to get into a 10' by 10' room with no entrances. Are there any werewolves in the audience tonight? Did I hear an 'Aarrroooo'? I guess it must be a full moon tonight. Careful of the silverware, it's real silver. Wow, this audience is so dead tonight it must be Undead. . . "
Review: Xenocops
We had high hopes for this game, and we weren't disappointed. Written by the same guy who ran "The Mediocre Four" and "Where the Willows Were" at previous cons, we expected something a bit silly, but in fact this game was a little more serious - the plot didn't involve any oversize donuts or jive-talking hedgehogs. However, a party made up of a snooty Xenologist, a fat old bastard, a poster-boy poser and a giant lobster left plenty of room for buggering around, and we made good use of it. Overall, the plot was a perfect vehicle for the excellent characters, being neither railroad nor boring; the GMing was also excellent - we hardly noticed that the game ran 45 minutes overtime we were having so much fun. I would have to say this was easily one of the best games at the con. If you missed out on this one, do yourself a favour and look out for Xenocops at upcoming cons!
