1995 was a great year for MURP - our membership topped 120, people were active, many Infernals were run, and people were evilly having fun.
At Conquest and Arcanacon there were MURP people running and playing games, generally being visible all over the buildings. Some industrious individual was seen plastering walls, floors, people and ceilings with Capricon posters, much to the bemusement of the organisers.
The Infernals included StoryTeller, Cthulhu, AD&D and Middle Earth games. Capricon itself had games from as widely varying systems as RuneQuest, Cyberpunk, Call of Cthulhu, Aliens, Chaosium, GURPS, AD&D and a freeform. Magic:the Gathering even got a look-in.
Our camps were popular - 25 people came to the first Portsea camp and 30 people to the second. The informal nights, seminars and B-grade movies all were well attended.
And just as importantly, even at the end of the year, there were 5 or more regular games running every Thursday night.
In 1996, many things are already planned for MURP and its members. Apart from the O-week functions, we have already started putting together plans for teams to Conquest, Arc and more.
Camps are booked, Capricon rooms have been booked.
All we need are the new members.
