A MURP Glossary
- Arcanacon
- ar-can-a-con or arken-arken. A tournament held every
July in Melbourne. Big, but expensive.
- Capricon
- kap-ri-con. Murp's own tournament. The name
derives from the fact that it used to be held in December.
- Conquest
- con-kwest. Another tournament, held over Easter.
Often regarded as Arcanacon's practice run. Has been described as "Goth
meets Geek".
- Dave
- day-v - An honorary Murp title. It usually indicates
great reverence.
- Free Plug For Capricon
- free plug for cap-ri-con. Typical name for the Murp committee
convention teams.
- Fun Guys from Yuggoth
- fun-gis from yug-goth. A semi-legendary Murp Convention team.
- "Get off the grass"
- Git off thee grars mayte. A Lukanism. Now
archaic, it indicates an attempt to motivate someone who appears to be lethargic.
- Infernal Torment
- in-fer-nal tor-ment. Internal Tournament at
Murp, usually bi-semesterly at least.
- Murp Jumper
- li-t blu krap."I was just doing some painting... "
- WANGCon
- wan-kon. An alternate name for Capricon, much
campaigned for by Dave (see Dave) Rogerson.
